We offer a comprehensive programme of orientation events to help international students settle in following their arrival in Manchester.
Our Orientation programme offers practical advice about starting your life and studies at The University and valuable information to introduce you to the city of Manchester. Our social events offer fun and informal opportunities to meet other students.
Organised by staff from our International Office, Orientation also involves student ambassadors who are available to support you and answer any questions you may have. You can find them around campus or at the AskMe Desk in University Place from Monday, 25 to Friday, 29 January.
Presentations for all new students
Presentations on Monday, 25 January are for all new students and provide important information including on studying in the UK, safety and security, the Students’ Union, and banking.
Compulsory presentations for students on International Programmes Office schemes
Presentations on Tuesday, 26 January are only suitable for students coming to us through one of our International Programmes Office schemes – Erasmus+, Study Abroad and Worldwide Exchange. These are compulsory. Please arrive early to collect your information packs, as there will not be another opportunity to do so.
The programme of events is suitable for all new students joining us in January. Please come to as many events as you like but remember to book early for those requiring tickets because places are limited and they will sell out fast.
To find out more information about these events, please see the January Orientation guide (PDF document, 5.8MB).
