Orientation events for international students

Orientation

We offer a comprehensive programme of orientation events to help international students settle in following their arrival in Manchester.

Our Orientation programme offers practical advice about starting your life and studies at the University and valuable information to introduce you to the city of Manchester. Welcome social events, for all our students, offer fun and informal opportunities to meet other students.

Student ambassadors are available to support you and answer any questions you may have. You can find them around campus or at the AskMe Desks in residential halls, the Students’ Union and University Place from Tuesday, 13 September to Friday, 23 September (halls desks close on Sunday, 18 September).

Presentations for all new students

Presentations on Friday, 16, Saturday, 17 and Sunday, 18 September are for all new students and you can find details of all the events in the Get Ready guide in your Welcome Pack. All the presentations are free to attend and you do not need a ticket.

You can have a look at the guide below.

You can find out about all our of our 2016 Welcome events – campus tours, city tours, museum and gallery and evening activities – in our What's On Guide below.

Keep checking our Welcome website as we'll be posting lots of additional information there as we get closer to your arrival.

Compulsory presentations for students on International Programmes Office schemes

Some of the presentations on Saturday, 17 September are intended only for students coming to us through one of our International Programmes Office schemes – Erasmus+, Study Abroad and Worldwide Exchange. These are compulsory. Please arrive early to collect your information packs, as there will not be another opportunity to do so.

If you have any questions or concerns please email us at orientation@manchester.ac.uk. Alternatively, please feel free to ask any questions you may have on our FacebookTwitter or Weibo pages.
