Introduction

The University has a long history of training students from Hong Kong in a wide range of disciplines such as medicine, law, social sciences, architecture, civil and mechanical engineering.

The similarities between the Hong Kong and UK education systems mean that Hong Kong students have direct access to all programmes, as long as entry requirements are met and students can demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English language.

Students from Hong Kong may apply for a Chevening Scholarship for taught master’s programmes.

The Croucher Foundation in Hong Kong offers scholarships, fellowships and research studentships for doctoral and post-doctoral students.

Furthermore, each year the University attracts more than £250 million of research funding from external sources and we invest a further £96 million of our own funds into research.
