Academic entry qualification overview

Normally an honours degree, or the equivalent, from any academic background plus a minimum of three years' postgraduate work experience with strong career progression. If you do not have a first degree, you may be eligible if you have significant work experience.

If you are applying under the Young Potential Leader's entry-route then we require:

  • a First Class honours degree is required (preferably from a Russell Group University) or
  • a bachelor's degree with a second class upper classification from a Russell Group University and a Masters degree with distinction from a Russell Group University

Fees

For entry in the academic year beginning September 2015, the tuition fees are as follows:

  • MBA (full-time)
    UK/EU students (per annum): £40,000 (Fee Collected by School)
    International students (per annum): £40,000 (Fee Collected by School)

The fees quoted above will be fully inclusive for the course tuition, administration and computational costs during your studies.

All fees for entry will be subject to yearly review and incremental rises per annum are also likely over the duration of courses lasting more than a year for UK/EU students (fees are typically fixed for International students, for the course duration at the year of entry). Self-funded international applicants for this course will be required to pay a deposit of £1000 towards their tuition fees before a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) is issued. This deposit will only be refunded if immigration permission is refused. We will notify you about how and when to make this payment.

Additional expenses

Expenses for a single student (estimated):

  • Total Living Expenses for one year: £9,600 (£800 per month)
  • Total Living Expenses for 19 months: £15,200

Expenses for a student coming to Manchester with their partner/family

  • Total Living Expenses for one year: £15,000 (£1,250 per month)
  • Total Living Expenses for 19 months: £23,750

Scholarships/sponsorships

Scholarships 

A range of part-tuition fee scholarships are available for British, EEA, and international candidates, as well as for candidates with specific industry backgrounds.

Scholarships are generally awarded at £5,000, £10,000, £15,000 or £20,000 . A small amount of larger scholarships are available for exceptional candidates who attend an assessment centre. Please check the MBS website for most recent information.

Manchester Loyalty Bursary

The following candidates will be eligible for a Manchester Business School Loyalty Bursary: 20% discount on the Full-time MBA programme tuition fee (£38,800 for September 2014 entry)

  • If you hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from the University of Manchester (or former UMIST).
  • If you have successfully completed the Manchester Business School High Flyers or AMAC Programme.

The Alumni Bursary discount will be applied to the fees remaining after any scholarship has been awarded.
