Manchester is one of the best places in the UK for postgraduate study in Music. It offers a stimulating and supportive environment for research and composing, with a good range of programmes in musicology and composition.

We have excellent facilities, including a good range of instruments, listening equipment, computers and electronic studios and a new £6M building, including a new Concert Hall.

A £2 million purpose-built electro-acoustic studio block containing state-of-the-art facilities was completed in 2007.

With three major music libraries, Manchester's total library provision is excellent by any standards, and unrivalled in the North of England.

There are more than 81 concerts and visiting guest lectures in Music in a year, including 14 recitals by the Danel String Quartet.
