Japan / Student societies

Japanese Students’ Society

The Japanese Students’ Society is a place for Japanese people and those who are interested in Japanese culture to meet and have fun together.

International Society

The International Society is an independent, not-for-profit organisation unique to Greater Manchester. We aim to provide international students with a warm and friendly welcome when they arrive in the city and to make their time in the UK a wonderful experience.

Japanimation Society

Dissatisfied with mediocre Hollywood movies? Is your TV licence not delivering enough content? Want to experience a fresh world of untapped imagination, imagery and ideas? Well, there is a (free) solution available. The Manchester University Japanimation Society(MUJS) is the official society for the viewing, enjoyment and promotion of the best animated television programmes and films from Japan, and has been so for over a decade now. We find that anime has a vast wealth of exciting and enthralling experiences to offer, which shouldn’t be overlooked. Thusly, our goal is to challenge that disinterest, while providing a welcoming atmosphere to everyone and getting people interested and excited about anime.
