Introduction

With academic roots stretching back to 1824, The University of Manchester is one of the most respected universities worldwide. Following an unprecedented £1 billion investment into outstanding research and teaching facilities, the University aims to become a top 25 global provider of education and research by 2020.

Our campus includes more than 10,500 students from 180 countries outside the UK and is at the heart of the city of Manchester, a vibrant and multicultural European metropolis.

The University of Manchester has a long tradition of welcoming students from Turkey.

Our reputation as a world-class teaching and research university is confirmed through our position in the influential Academic Ranking of World Universities Survey conducted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In the 2016 survey we were placed 35th in the world, seventh in Europe and fifth in the UK.

Employability

Manchester graduates have an excellent reputation among employers. Unsurprisingly, we are therefore consistently among the most targeted universities by major graduate recruiters (The Graduate Market in 2015, High Fliers Research). Many of our academic Schools offer career-related course units and a number of lectures are delivered by employers who will explain exactly what they are looking for in recruits.

In addition, we maintain links with more than 6,000 UK and global employers. This enables us to ensure teaching and course content are relevant to the needs of industry and commerce so our graduates leave not just with academic knowledge but also with the transferable skills needed to be successful on their chosen career path.

At Manchester we are mindful of the concerns of prospective Indian students regarding opportunities to improve career prospects by gaining work experience post-graduation in the UK. Opportunities do still exist under the Tier 2 employer-sponsored route and our Careers Service has key information on work visas during and after study.

Find out more about where some of our graduates work, and gain an insight into how they created their careers success on our Careers Service website.
