IHPO runs 'Hearing Care for ALL' project and lecture

MICRA are pleased to promote an upcoming virtual gallery project aiming to target the general population and policymakers and raise awareness about the importance of early detection of a decrease in hearing.

The ‘Hearing Care for ALL’ virtual gallery project is organised by the Institute for Health Policy and Organisation (IHPO) and funded by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The objectives of the project are going to be achieved through a series of activities related to World Hearing Day (3 March), that will include:

  • photo contest under the topic ‘Hearing for ALL’ - a virtual gallery project to promote hearing health during the life-course.
  • An exhibition with the top-rated photos. The online art exhibition will be listing photos, visual art and poems relevant to the WHO messages for the day 'Hearing care for ALL! Screen. Rehabilitate. Communicate'.
  • A special topic lecture by Dr Dalia Tsimpida on the World Hearing Day to showcase the groundbreaking research by researchers at the IHPO.

Dr Dalia Tsimpida is a key figure in hearing loss research and recently led a groundbreaking study which revealed for the first time that the increasing trend in hearing loss prevalence is not related to the ageing of the population, as widely believed, but potentially to social and lifestyle changes.

Sign up to the talk on 3 March.
