Ukraine Rises - Democracy, Protest, Identity and War in Comparative Perspective

The Department of Politics is honoured to have the support of The Petro Jacyk Foundation for extra costs associated with a new Politics undergraduate course: ‘Ukraine Rises: Democracy, Protest, Identity and War in Comparative Perspective’.

The course will be taught by Dr Olga Onuch, author of ‘The Zelensky Effect’ (OUP/Hurst 2022). The Petro Jacyk Foundation has previously supported major Ukraine Studies programs, scholarships and postdocs, mostly in North America and Ukraine.

Manchester is already leader in the study of Ukraine in the UK by having hosted and co-hosted a number of externally funded research projects on Ukraine, as well as hosting an ESCR Case Studentship with the British Council in Ukraine.
