Member of European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) since 2003.


Dr Semic-Jusufagic qualified in medicine and completed her specialist training in Paediatrics at the Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey. After completing her specialist training, she spent 1.5 years training in Paediatric Allegy at Marmara University Hospital. In 2005 she accepted an exciting offer to do a PhD project in Professor Custovic's research group. As a part of Manchester Asthma and Allergy Study (MAAS) team she spent four years investigating the association between antibiotic use in infancy and its effect on development of childhood asthma. She was awarded PhD in February 2010.


Dr Semic-Jusufagic holds a post of Honorary Research Fellow at University of Manchester and  works as a Clinical Trials Physician for NIHR Respiratory and Allergy Clinical Research Facility based at Wythenshawe Hospital. She is a part of the Allergy Research Group and is actively involved in research of food allergy. She also acts as a sub-investigator on several Phase II to IV clinical trials looking into new treatments for respiratory and allergic diseases.
