The University of Manchester’s strong heritage as a place of excellence for learning and innovation, combined with its sheer scale, provides event organisers with a choice of amazing spaces for events from 2 to 1,000 delegates.

Our venues include iconic Manchester buildings and, with the continued investment in the University infrastructure, we also offer stylish, contemporary venues.

Many of our amazing spaces are available all year round for smaller meetings and training days, or for drinks receptions and dinners in venues like the stunning neo-gothic Whitworth Hall for up to 300 guests. During the vacation periods, we can host national and international conferences for up to 1,000 delegates and summer residential events in the student halls of residence.

Our location in central Manchester, and easy access by rail from all parts of the UK, makes the University a more sustainable choice. This sustainability sits at the heart of all we do, whether it’s sourcing local ingredients for our conference menus or installing smart technology in our meeting rooms to reduce our carbon footprint.
