Overview
Implant Surgical & Restorative Techniques Parts 1 and 2 will enable participants to acquire the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to place and restore dental implants in selected patients who require a removable implant borne prostheses. In addition, surgical techniques for dental implant placement and techniques for the construction and maintenance of a removable denture-retained prosthesis are covered
Aims
On completion of the programme of study, students will have acquired:
- knowledge of contemporary aspects of periodontology and implantology, including an appreciation of an interdisciplinary approach to comprehensive patient care.
- appropriate practical and clinical skills relevant to periodontology and implantology. Competence and confidence in a variety of transferable skills relevant to periodontology and implantology.

Structured Clinical Operative Test = 35%
Mini CEX = 30%
Case Report / Case-based discussion = 35%

Feedback forms will be completed by examiners for all elements of accredited assessment and students are encouraged to make an appointment with the Director via the Programme Administrator to discuss such feedback.
