Event description
To celebrate Pride Month 2024, the ALLOUT Network and EDI Directorate are presenting an evening of conversation with author Matt Cain.
In January, Matt published his new novel 'One Love', which is partly set at The University of Manchester. It follows the relationship between the characters Danny and Guy, who first meet at the University's Freshers Fair in 2002 and reunite for Manchester Pride 2022.
The book includes other glimpses of the University, such as Dalton Ellis and Hulme Hall, and presents how Manchester and the University have provided a safe haven for people to come to terms with and accept their queer identity – aligning with our bicentenary straplines of Proudly Mancunian and Creating Communities since 1824.
