Open Research Digest, September 2026
September 2026 issue now available
We’re back after our summer break with the latest edition of the Open Research Digest from the Office for Open Research. As always, the Digest brings together news, opportunities and updates from across the Open Research community at the University of Manchester.
This month's issue includes:
- Your opportunity to apply for the 2027 Open Research Fellowship Programme, with up to six Fellowships available to support colleagues developing projects that improve research practice.
- Guidance on changes to Cancer Research UK Open Access funding arrangements that take effect from 1 October 2026.
- Important information about forthcoming changes to OSF (Open Science Framework) and what these changes mean for Manchester researchers.
- The launch of Library support for Perma.cc, helping researchers create permanent records of web-based sources cited in their research, and our new support for OpenAlex, providing enhanced access to one of the world's largest open scholarly databases.
We hope you enjoy this month’s issue.
