Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre

  • Accelerating lab-to-market development, enabling companies to fast-track technology readiness levels and get new graphene-based products to market quickly.  
  • Commercialising innovation and helping companies to secure the competitive edge required to reach their economic potential.  
  • Giving access to world class facilities and resources, supported by internationally renowned academics and experienced applications engineers.
Data Visualisation Observatory

Data Visualisation Observatory

  • A first of its kind in the UK, the Observatory can provide interactive visualisations of large data sets, capture user behaviour in a controlled, immersive environment, and create digital simulations of manufacturing processes and designs, among much more.
  • The facility can also be used for video conferencing and information-intensive brainstorming sessions, both in the lab and virtually across the world.

Sustainable Materials Innovation Hub

  • Part of the Henry Royce Institute the Hub works with businesses to create real solutions for plastics use, offering everything from free advice to long term collaboration projects.
  • Collaboration can be in the form of a materials assessment on your products and components to inform for sustainable choices, or innovating new sustainable polymers for markets, improving recycling methods and validating emerging sustainable materials.

Christabel Pankhurst Institute

  • £25 million initiative between the University, NHS, business and local government to develop innovative solutions to pressing health and care challenges.
  • Acts as an external flagship for the University’s rapidly expanding health technology portfolio.
  • Provides support across the translational pathway, from application to funding, regulation, clinical trials, commercialisation and deployment.
Dalton Nuclear Institute

Dalton Nuclear Institute

  • Bringing together the UK’s largest and most comprehensive academic nuclear research capability to fully cover nuclear energy and decarbonisation including fusion, as well as health and social science.
  • Fostering long-term, strategic partnerships across industry, academia and Government, to tackle real-world challenges.
  • Providing training and specialist laboratories in Manchester and at our dedicated Dalton Cumbrian Facility.
