Jatin Patel, MEng, BA (Hons)

Jatin Patel is currently Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer, and a member of the Executive Committee, of Hastings Direct, a large UK based general insurer.

Prior to that, Jatin was Product and Digital Director at TSB Bank. He previously held various leadership roles at Lloyds Banking group after starting his career with the strategy consulting firm Marakon Associates, and before that as an Undergraduate Engineer with Ford Motor Company.

Jatin is responsible for the P&L and commercial growth objectives at Hastings, previously having the same responsibility at TSB. This has encompassed leading digital transformation, pricing, proposition development and brand management.

At these organisations, Jatin has been involved in significant M&A, IT transformations, navigating businesses through major changes (including market and regulatory disruptions) and shaping industry developments with Board Advisory roles with Visa, MasterCard & UK finance.

He has also been the Executive sponsor of Equality Diversity & Inclusion programmes at both Hastings and TSB and has taken on cross-company mentoring roles with Business in the Community and the 30% Club.

Within Education, Jatin has previously been a School Governor in West London, a pupil and teacher mentor at schools in South London and worked on secondary school initiatives with the London Schools Commissioner/Department of Education.
Jatin was educated at Wembley High School in Northwest London and studied Manufacturing Engineering at Jesus College, Cambridge.

He now lives in London with his wife and three children.
