Dr Yang Han wins Distinguished Achievement Award for teaching

Dr Yang Han, Lecturer in Statistics in The University of Manchester's School of Mathematics, has been awarded a Distinguished Achievement Medal for Teacher of the Year 2019.

One of only three University winners in this category, Dr Han was recognised for her outstanding performance and significant contribution to teaching.

The award is given to those whose teaching has been outstanding, who has demonstrated the ability to communicate ideas effectively, and has been able to motivate and stimulate students to learn - while at the same time showing commitment to innovation and excellence in education.

President and Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell presided over the ceremony, along with Vice-Presidents and Deans. The event took place on 1 July 2019 in the University's Whitworth Hall.
