Lemn Sissay invites all to Making a Difference Awards

Our Chancellor Lemn Sissay has sent an invitation to our whole University community and beyond to our Making a Difference Awards for Social Responsibility 2020.

The awards will be held online this year, due to the COVID19 pandemic – but that means everyone who wants to can join Lemn, our President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell and other senior staff for the celebration.

Now more than ever we can see how universities are making a real difference to lives of people around the world. So we’d like to bring our whole University community together for this live event to celebrate the wide range of contributions we are making to society and the environment.

So many of our staff and students are making a difference to the lives of others and through the Making a Difference Awards we want to recognise and celebrate all their hard work.
Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility

The Making a Difference Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of our staff, students, alumni and external partners and celebrate the impact they are having on the social well-being of our communities and wider society.

The Awards offer the opportunity to share best practice about social responsibility initiatives and encourage others to get involved. Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility said “So many of our staff and students are making a difference to the lives of others and through the Making a Difference Awards we want to recognise and celebrate all their hard work.
