MCI Director hosts delegation from Peking University

From left to right Rhys Walley (Manchester China Forum), Prof Wang Dong (Peking University), Consul General Zheng Ziyuan, Prof Pete Gries, Prof Qi Haotian. Prof Wang Dong and Prof Qi Haotian from the School of International Studies of Peking University visited the Manchester China Institute and met with its Director Prof Pete Gries on 6 April to discuss possible research cooperation. Delegates included CG Zheng and Rhys Whalley from Manchester China Forum.

The purpose of this visit is to exchange views on Brexit, UK-China relations with relevant think tanks, research institutes and governmental organisations. The delegation plans to visit Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Chatham House, IISS, Lower House, UK MFA, Chinese Embassy, as well as Consulate General in Manchester.

The delegation of the two professors was accompanied by PRC Consul General Zheng and the Executive Director of the Manchester China Forum.

Prof Pete Gries said: “This was a very productive meeting and we discussed a variety of areas of potential future collaboration”
