The Office for Open Research launches Open Research Fellowship Programme

In a significant development, the Office for Open Research has unveiled the Open Research Fellowship Programme marking the one-year anniversary since its launch:

This initiative seeks to provide an unparalleled opportunity for fellows to advance their careers while contributing to the open research community. Notably, the programme offers financial support by covering 0.2 FTE salary costs for up to five fellows, for a period of 12 months (subject to Head of School approval). Fellows will also be able to draw on funding for project related expenses.

The programme is open to all academic, professional, and technical services colleagues at The University of Manchester and applications close on Monday, 31 July 2023. The project-based application process ensures that fellows are selected based on the merit and potential impact of their proposed open research projects.

Benefits of the fellowship

Participating in the fellowship offers numerous advantages. Fellows gain access to a robust network of academic and research professionals, facilitating collaboration and the exchange of ideas. Additionally, they receive valuable resources and support from the Office for Open Research, enabling them to thrive in their research endeavours. They will also be contributing to the development of open research training resources and materials as part of the Open Research Skills Training project.

By investing in the fellows' skills and knowledge, the programme seeks to nurture a network of open research experts and leaders at the University, who will continue supporting and advocating for open research within their respective departments and building an open research community of practice.
