Queering Atrocity Prevention report makes national and international impact
A recent report led by Dr Jess Gifkins has been featured in a UK Select Committee report and in a United Nations General Assembly report.

A report led by Dr Jess Gifkins from the Politics department, on ‘Queering Atrocity Prevention’, in collaboration with Dr Dean Cooper-Cunningham from the University of Sheffield, and charity Protection Approaches was launched in March 2022.
This work has recently been cited in a report by the UK House of Commons International Development Committee and in a report by the United Nations Special Advisor on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. The UN report was launched in October 2022 and Dr Gifkins’ co-authors were in New York, including Dr Kate Ferguson who chaired the event.
