Scholarship enables two aspiring humanitarians to study at HCRI

HCRI is happy to announce two recipients of the Equity and Merit Scholarship for the next Semester.

The two winners are Yared Alemu from Ethiopia studying Humanitarian and Conflict Response MA full-time in October, and Patrick Magona from Uganda, studying the Global Health MSc.

The Equity and Merit Scholarship will open for applications on 1 August for entry in the 21/22 academic year.

The Equity and Merit Scholarship is aimed at ambitious humanitarians from Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda, with a strong academic background. Prospective scholars must demonstrate their potential to make a societal impact by addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The award covers the cost of return international airfares, living expenses, and visas with the following types of scholarship:

  • Full-time, on-campus master's (one-year duration)
  • Part-time distance learning master's (three to five years' duration)

Courses available at HCRI on the Scholarship programme in 2021/22 include the International Disaster Management MSc Humanitarianism and Conflict Response MA, and Global Health MSc.
