SEES postgraduate chosen for Forbes 30 under 30
Zainab Bibi, a current PhD student in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES), has been included on the 2019 Forbes '30 under 30' Asia list in the Industry, Manufacturing and Energy category.
Zainab is the founder of the Pakistan Society for Green Energy, which was established in 2013 to develop new methods of renewable energy. She has successfully produced bioethanol from waste tissue paper, and introduced Camelina Sativa, a drought-resistant plant that can be made into bio-diesel.
Bibi has previously received a Queen's Young Leaders Award for her efforts in creating public support for environmentally-friendly initiatives in Pakistan.
