United by a love of music

The Manchester Confucius Institute Choir ‘Harmony’ is looking for new choir members that share a passion of singing and languages through songs from UK and China.

Besides looking to grow the choir as a whole, performers are needed to take part in a forthcoming choral performance at the Chinese New Year Gala hosted by Manchester CSSA, which plays an unmissable role for the Chinese community in Manchester.

The gala is set to take place on the evening of Friday, 9 February at Manchester Central Convention Complex. We warmly welcome anyone who can hold a note to join us for a short intensive rehearsal period for the next four weeks. This is a great opportunity to sing English and Chinese music for the glorious Spring Festival.

We rehearse on Wednesdays from 2-3pm in the John Casken Theatre at Martin Harris Centre.

Spanish conductor Juan Ortuño creates a fun atmosphere by introducing English and Mandarin songs that are sung in lovely rich four part harmonies.

Anyone interested in joining us should email Tabea Heckrodt: tabea.heckrodt@manchester.ac.uk
