Kandy Diamond is a freelancer designer and textile artist, her company Knit and destroy established in 2006 trades internationally with clients in the UK Europe and the States. Kandy is very active within the resurging DIY contemporary craft movement, with both her knitted work and the creation of bi-annual Sugar Paper craft zine. Kandy also exhibits her work nationally in solo and touring exhibitions.
Kandy Graduated from UMIST with a first class (hons) degree in Textile design with a specialism in Knit. A key teaching responsibility is the creation and delivery of the Design Enterprise Unit for Textile Designers; this unit regularly wins the Price Waterhouse Coopers University wide team working wards and enables students to experience the working of a small business first hand. Kandy is also heavily involved with the delivery of knitted textiles within the School and brings a contemporary edge to traditional textile processes. As chair of the staff student liaison committee within the school she plays a key role in student support and pastoral care.
