Prof Richard Battye ( ) - research

Research interests

My main interests are in linking fundamental physics with astrophysics and cosmology. In particular, I am interested in the the origins of Dark Matter, Dark Energy and Inflation. This involves the study of the Cosmic Microwave Background, large-scale structure and a wealth of other observations,  and linking them with particle physics models or even String Theory. I also have an interest in topological defects and solitons, in particular non-linear numerical field theory simulations.
