We work closely with NHS organisations, bringing the benefits of our research more quickly to patients.
Manchester: Integrating Medicine and Innovative Technology (MIMIT)
The University of Manchester and the major NHS Teaching and Primary Care Trusts have joined forces to create MIMIT.
It is an exciting initiative that aims to facilitate collaboration between scientists, clinicians and engineers to develop innovative technology for patient benefit in Manchester.
Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC)
A partnership between six NHS organisations in Greater Manchester and The University of Manchester.
MAHSC is based on a federal model and is the first AHSC in the UK to cover the full spectrum of care: acute, specialist, mental health, primary care and commissioning.
Regional NHS networks
The University is a member of the Northern Health Science Alliance (NHSA).
The NHSA is a new partnership established by the leading universities and NHS hospital trusts in the north of England to improve the health and wealth of the region by creating an internationally recognised life science and healthcare system.
Other local networks
The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at The University of Manchester work with a broad range of established local research centres, facilities and networks.
