To support the university's commitment to social responsibility, the Alliance Manchester Business School will be awarding 5 scholarships to high achieving students who are able to demonstrate a significant contribution and commitment to social responsibility. The recipients of the aware will be assigned a mentor from the AMBS Social Responsibility committee to help with their SR initiatives, involvement and development during their undergraduate studies at AMBS. They will be encouraged to become an AMBS Social Responsibility Student Champion and will be invited to meet the full SR committee once a year.
Scheme eligibility
Essential criteria are criteria you must meet to be considered for this scheme. Students who do not meet this criteria will not be considered for this award. The essential criteria for this scheme are as follows:
To be eligible, students must:
- Have been assessed for fee status as a 'home' student;
- Achieved AAA at A-Level (or equivalent qualification);
- Be able to demonstrate a significant contribution and commitment to social responsibility

What you need to apply
Your written application should consist of two parts with about 1,000 words for each part.
- In the first part, please outline your previous personal social responsibility (SR) involvement in, for example, community-based projects, volunteering opportunities and/or fundraising activities, and explain how they are linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- In the second part, please explain how you could further develop yourself and help develop other students in the school and university to become socially responsible graduates (please also include your understanding of the key attributes of “socially responsible graduates”).
Selection process
We will use the information provided in your application form to prioritise the applicants. Applicants who exceed AAA and/or have supplementary qualifications (such as EPQ) will receive additional consideration.
