Fees for entry in 2027 have not yet been set. For reference, the fees for the academic year beginning September 2026 were as follows:

• MSc (full-time)
  UK students (per annum): £17,400
  International, including EU, students (per annum): £36,800

The fees quoted above are fully inclusive of tuition, administration and computational costs.

Fees for entry are subject to yearly review. The University reserves the right to increase your tuition fee by up to 7% each year for courses lasting more than one year, including to reflect rising costs associated with delivering our educational and wider student experience. All students should normally be able to complete their programme of study without incurring additional study costs over and above the tuition fee for that programme. Any unavoidable additional compulsory costs totalling more than 1% of the annual home undergraduate fee per annum, regardless of whether the programme in question is undergraduate or postgraduate taught, will be made clear to you at the point of application. The course unit addresses issues associated with managing projects in a business environment. As well as learning project management techniques and their application, students will gain an appreciation of strategic and organisational issues associated with performance management.

1. To develop an understanding of the application of project planning concepts and techniques.
2. To demonstrate the importance of project monitoring and control and the need to adapt and revise the project plan due to changing circumstances.
3. To provide insight into the usefulness of tools and techniques in project planning and control by considering Cost Engineering approaches.
4. To ensure that students understand and can apply appropriate techniques to plan, monitor and control work packages, projects and programmes.
5. To develop understanding in the use of project performance management and use of Key Performance Indicators
6. To develop understanding of and ability to use a range of investment appraisal techniques.

On the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

Demonstrate Project Monitoring and Control: Students will exhibit the ability to continuously monitor and control projects, adjusting project plans dynamically in response to changing conditions to ensure project success and alignment with goals.

Demonstrate Project Planning Concepts and Techniques: Students will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of key project planning concepts and techniques, applying these methods effectively to create detailed project plans that consider scope, resources, and timelines.

Apply Waterfall and Agile Methodologies: Students will gain insights into the practical applications of standard project management methodologies, particularly Waterfall and Agile, and will be able to decide when and how to implement each approach based on project requirements.

Demonstrate how to Plan, Monitor, and Control Work Packages and Programs: Students will be skilled in using advanced techniques to plan, monitor, and control work packages, individual projects, and broader programs, ensuring effective governance and delivery within agreed parameters.
