The School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED), in partnership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), is pleased to announce three £2,000 cash bursaries for our RTPI fully accredited master's programmes commencing in September 2020.

Specified use

The awards are cash bursaries which can be used as a contribution towards living expenses or tuition fees.

Tenable period

The cash bursaries are paid in three installments (25/50/25) during year one of your masters programme.

Continuation of award

Continuation of the award is subject to satisfactory progress.

Academic requirements

Applicants must have a First or Upper Second Class degree at undergraduate level in any discipline to apply.

Nationality restrictions

This funding is available to students from the UK and EU.

Other eligibility criteria

Applicants must hold an offer of study at The University of Manchester before applying for this funding.

Applicants must:

  • already hold an unconditional offer to study on an eligible programme .
  • have a UK or EU nationality or have proof of eligibility to work in the UK or Ireland after graduation.

Application procedure

To be considered for this award candidates must complete the online funding application form . This is a separate application to the master's application. 

Candidates are required to submit a 500 word statement as part of their funding application detailing how they will apply their learning to develop a credible career track into town planning.
