Master’s facilities

Our facilities will help you to make the most of your studies and range from one of the UK’s best-resourced academic libraries to the largest home for engineering of any UK university.

Investing in our campus

We are undertaking the biggest investment programme ever seen in UK higher education, including a multimillion-pound investment in buildings and facilities since 2004.

MECD campus
Engineering Buildings A and B are unrivalled in scale – in the UK – as a hub of engineering and materials expertise.

Manchester’s iconic Victorian buildings are now joined by contemporary lecture theatres, laboratories, studios, computer labs and a host of student support services.

Our new Engineering A and B buildings, part of the Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD), provide world-class sustainable research facilities, alongside flexible and innovative teaching and learning spaces that allow you to shape your learning environment. It will be the largest concentration of interdisciplinary engineering expertise in any UK university.

The Alliance Manchester Business School, part of the University’s £1 billion campus masterplan, has been refurbished and is now home to a data visualisation observatory – the first of its kind in the UK, the behavioural research laboratory, inspiring study and teaching spaces, along with bustling catering outlets and three outdoor courtyards.
