IT services for master’s students
Master’s students can take advantage of extensive IT services underpinning our teaching and research activities.
IT Services look after much of the technology that powers The University of Manchester and the support that come with it. We have all the services you’d expect, such as Wi-Fi, email, printing and online learning, plus other services that you may not expect, including our lecture podcast service and 24/7 telephone support.
You can watch and re-play your lectures in your own personalised area of our video portal. It’s a service which is extremely popular with our students, who find it really helpful when it comes to exam revision.
Fast and secure Wi-Fi is available all across campus and in University owned halls of residence with the eduroam network at no extra charge.
You'll benefit from 24/7 IT help and support for University services and your own tech, through our 24/7 telephone helpline, online support portal and the Library’s Live Chat facility. We also have a team of representatives in halls of residence who can visit you to help get you online, whether you’re studying, browsing, downloading or gaming.
You can download Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and more) on your own computer or mobile devices for free. Other software is also available for free or at a discount.
We’ve got thousands of computers all over the campus for students to use – either in-person or remotely.
You’re able to easily access your study materials, news, timetables and many other systems online through your computer, phone or tablet, wherever you are.
