A Moving Story for Manchester Student Homes

Manchester’s student housing experts are moving to the middle of Fallowfield from tomorrow, so they can be closer to their clients.

Manchester Student Homes opens for business in Ladybarn House, Moseley Road, Fallowfield, on Wednesday, 14 May, 2008.

MSH will move to the high-profile new premises at the junction of Moseley Road and Wilmslow Road from their original home in the University Precinct Centre.

The aim of the move is to raise the profile of Manchester Student Homes as a presence within the local community and among students and landlords. Fallowfield is well known as a residential area with a high concentration of students.

Manager Cooper Healey said: “The new office makes us more visible to students, landlords and residents, so they can all get easier access to our services. Residents can come and speak to us, for example, if they feel landlords are not meeting our Code of Standards, whilst students can get easier access, as we are close to Owens Park.”

The office will be open 9am-5pm weekdays, with a total of seven staff.

Manchester Student Homes is a joint accommodation bureau for students of the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, which coordinates private sector accommodation for students.

MSH also has agreements to provide services to City College Manchester, Manchester College of Arts and Technology, Royal Northern College of Music and Salford Students’ Union. MSH runs a voluntary accreditation scheme for landlords and works with local authorities and community and professional bodies to improve standards in private sector student accommodation.
