Dr Laura McLeod new EDI Officer for the British International Studies Association
Dr Laura McLeod was elected as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the British International Studies Association (BISA) early this year. In an interview, she discusses her research background and what she aims to achieve in the role.

In the interview as new EDI Officer, Laura McLeod, Senior Lecturer in International Politics, explains why she wanted to take on the role:
“I believe that it is important to serve the profession: throughout our careers we ask a lot of others (to organise conferences, to review articles and grant applications, to write references for us, and so on) and so we all also need to pay it forward.”
She also encourages early career scholars to not be afraid of asking for help and to seek advice from a mentor.
