My Manchester unavailable

Information for applicants and offer holders

Due to the ongoing cyber incident and as part of addressing and resolving issues arising from the incident some of our systems are not available, including My Manchester.

We have collated the following information on how to complete processes previously undertaken in My Manchester.

Payment of CAS deposit

The requirement to pay a CAS deposit for our Postgraduate Taught programmes has been suspended for entry in September 2023. Any student due to register for a course in September 2023 will not be required to pay a CAS deposit.

We are aware that some students would like to pay a CAS deposit to support their student visa application under the Student visa route. Any payments made will be deducted from the total cost of your tuition fees and will appear on your CAS. It's possible to pay up to a maximum of the tuition fee due for the year. The total amount paid will be displayed when you register.

Please review the ‘Making a payment to the University’ information should you like to make a payment.

Payment of course acceptance deposit/reservation deposit

The requirement to pay a deposit to accept a place on some of our courses has been suspended for entry in September 2023. There are a small number of exceptions for our online and blended courses where a reservation fee is still payable:

  • MA Educational Leadership in Practice (Blended Learning)
  • MSc Financial Management (Blended Learning)

We are aware that some applicants would like to pay some or all of their tuition fees ahead of registration. Paying tuition fees, either yourself or on behalf of someone else, is easy and straightforward. We encourage payment in advance of you arriving at the University at the start of your studies to avoid unnecessary delays or problems transferring funds – especially for international payers. You can make a full or partial payment towards your tuition fees in advance of registration.

Please review the ‘Making a payment to the University’ information should you like to make a payment.

Making a payment to the University

If you are an applicant and need to make a deposit payment, or other payment, prior to registration you can do so by following this payment pathway.

Confirm your draft CAS

Offer holders will be unable to confirm their draft CAS in My Manchester for entry in September 2023. When your CAS is ready to check, you'll be sent a draft by email.  It's important that you check it carefully and respond quickly to this communication so that we can confirm your CAS details to the UKVI.

Students will need to complete their Right to Study check before a draft CAS can be issued.

Complete your tuition fee assessment

Tuition fees are set at different levels for Home and International students. Before you begin your course, we must establish your tuition fee status. In many cases, we'll be able to assess your fee status without any additional information and your status will be confirmed if/when you receive an offer to study at the University. However, if we need further information or documents to determine your fee status, we'll contact you directly and ask you to complete our Fee Assessment form and return it along with any evidence to the Fee Assessment team. We will contact you directly by email if we need you to complete a Tuition Fee Assessment.

Sending us your proof of sponsorship

To complete the financial aspect of your registration, the University needs to know who will be paying your tuition fees. A sponsorship letter is required if payment is to be made by a third-party sponsor, such as a charity, a commercial organisation, an international organisation or Student Finance.

You can email your sponsorship letter to the Tuition Fees team.

Completing your Right to Study check

We will contact you directly by email when we need you to complete your Right to Study check. If you have been contacted previously to complete this via My Manchester, you will be contacted again with details of the new process.

Completing your criminal conviction declaration

The University has a duty to ensure the safety of its students, staff, and all other members of the University community. All applicants must therefore disclose relevant unspent criminal convictions. The Student Admissions team will contact you directly by email regarding your criminal conviction declaration. If you have been contacted previously to complete this via My Manchester, you will be contacted again with details of the new process.

We have a dedicated information page for applicants and offer holders regarding the cyber incident. We would encourage you to review this page for further information.

If you are currently an undergraduate or postgraduate student at The University of Manchester, we have a dedicated support page for you.
