Dr Paul Redmond has been appointed as the University of Manchester's Director of Student Life for the Directorate for the Student Experience (DSE).

Paul is joining the Directorate from the University of Liverpool, where he has been the Director of Employability and Educational Opportunities for eight years, and is bringing with him the expertise that comes with almost 30 years spent working in the sector.

As an expert in the graduate job market, with strong links to industry and having published academic papers, articles and books on the topic, he will be using these skills to lead the Careers Service, Counselling Service, Disability Support Office, Sport, Access Summit and the Student Information, Advice and Guidance Service. Paul will be working alongside colleagues across the University to support students’ needs and improve their wellbeing and employability.

Born in Manchester, Paul’s first degree in English and History was awarded by the University and he is excited about taking on this new challenge. He said “I’m really excited to be joining the University of Manchester and I’m very much looking forward to meeting students and staff across the University.”

Paul will be joining the DSE in September.
