Leave a gift in your will

Shape the future with your legacy. Leave a gift in your will and help create a fairer, healthier and more sustainable world

Making a will is one of the most important things you can do. It ensures that the people you love are taken care of and reflects the causes you believe in. By leaving a legacy gift to The University of Manchester, you’ll help deliver real-world change long into the future.

Leave a legacy, shape the future

By leaving a gift in your will to the area you care about most, you’ll help us create a healthier, fairer and more sustainable future.

  • Your generosity will give brilliant minds access to a world-class education and support the discoveries that change our world – from green energy and health equity to digital inclusion.
  • Your legacy will fund entrepreneurial students and staff launching spinouts to tackle urgent global challenges, turning innovation into inclusive growth.
  • You’ll also help our cultural institutions ignite ideas, broaden access and drive social change for generations to come – from the heart of Manchester to the world.

"Leaving a gift, even one you think might be very modest, can help to change the lives of so many of our students and enable them to go on to make a real difference in the future."

Legacy Pledger

"I want to create a future where intelligent minds are supported and empowered, enabling life-changing research that helps others – like the research at Manchester that supported my mum and improved her quality of life."

"The greatest gift I can give is making a difference in the life of another human being. Especially if that person is young, from an underprivileged background and dreams of attending university."

Dr Sheila Weir

Founder of the Sheila W Weir Bursaries

Legacy supporter

"I know how life-changing higher education can be. By supporting Undergraduate Access Scholarships, I help people from disadvantaged backgrounds. They are courageous, showing fortitude and commitment to improving their situation. To help them is the least I can do."
