Dr Andrew Walsh

Director of Research and Business Engagement Support Services.

Dr Andrew Walsh has worked at The University of Manchester since 2002.

He initially held the post of Head of Research Policy in the University Research Office and was heavily involved in coordinating the University’s submission to RAE2008 (and part-seconded to HEFCE as a panel secretary).

In 2011 he was appointed to head up the newly formed Directorate of Research and Business Engagement Support Services (RBESS) and led the process to integrate a range of cognate, but previously separate, activities into a single whole.

Outside of the University, Dr Walsh has held advisory roles on trusted research for BEIS and UKRI.
