Our Careers Service

Receive the tailored support you need through our Careers Service, from the day you start until two years after you complete your course.

  • Use the CareerConnect portal built for University of Manchester students to find part-time work, placements, internships and graduate roles.
  • Benefit from online interactive tools and one-on-one support.
  • Attend skills workshops and bespoke events delivered by employers and our Careers Service team.
  • Join programmes specifically for Manchester students and graduates, such as the Summer Experience Internships, which offer our students paid, full-time work during the summer.

Part-time jobs

Get a part-time job while you study to improve your employability when you graduate, and earn some extra cash in the meantime. The University offers roles where you can represent your fellow students as a student ambassador, school representative or peer mentor. There are also thousands of other jobs on your doorstep in this vibrant city.

Through the University's Stellify award, you can get involved in a whole host of opportunities that challenge you, contribute to society and enhance your career prospects. Some examples include:

  • Volunteer in our local community or virtually across the world, through our Volunteer Hub, full of opportunities just for Manchester students.
  • Have fun, learn something new, make friends and consider taking up a leadership position in one of our 400+ Students' Union societies.
  • Become a Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) Leader in your later years of study and support our first-years as they start their journey.
