Aims

The aim of this module is to introduce students to a number of contemporary topics in international business and management.  The material will be presented using a combination of internal faculty who have an international reputation and are considered leaders in their fields, external speakers with expertise in particular areas, as well as site visits if relevant. Contemporary topics could include social enterprise, government policy, the digital and creative sector, big data, regional development, automation and productivity, corporate elites, the role of consultants, and innovation in emerging economies.  The intention is to provide an overview of current issues, some of which may be newly emerging and have not yet have entered traditional academic publication outlets, yet they are highly relevant for graduates entering the business and management profession.
