This is a flexible course unit that facilitates learning of the principels of research skills, combined with conducting and reporting of empirical research in a format that suits a student's career pathway.

- Empirical study

Aims
The unit aims to:
- provide students with a unique experience of designing, conducting and reporting an independent, orginal research project
- develop the student's ability to critically appraise published research, formulate and work with a relevant research question, understand and apply appropriate research and data-analysis methodologies
- refine scientific writing and presentation skills
