Course description

If you are interested in studying genomic medicine at postgraduate level to further your professional prospects, but don't have the time to dedicate to a full master's course, you can take one or more units from our Genomic Medicine MSc course as standalone continuing professional development (CPD) courses.

We offer a range of units as short CPD courses, with most focusing on face-to-face interaction with our genomic medicine experts. Some units are taught using blended learning - a combination of face-to-face and online elements - for further flexibility.

What our students say

So far, I have completed four modules on Bioinformatics, Human Genetics, Pharmacogenomics and Genetic Counselling. I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed each of these and they have opened my eyes to the potential transformation of healthcare in the NHS through genomic medicine. (Bradley Horn, Genetic Technologist)

I enjoyed the course - very interesting with different areas covered. I learnt a lot; the presentation was good for independent learning. Good course and excellent lecturers.  (CPD student, Genomics and Mainstream Medicine - Ophthalmology)

The course content was really interesting and useful, and it was good to finish the week seeing it from the patient's point of view through the Genetic Counselling and Supporting Patients lectures. (CPD student, Genomics and Mainstream Medicine - Ophthalmology)

I thought it was a well-balanced overview of the many aspects of eye disease with the genetics department. I enjoyed it all. (CPD student, Genomics and Mainstream Medicine - Ophthalmology)

Very interesting week with a good mixture of sessions. (CPD student, Genomics and Mainstream Medicine - Ophthalmology)
