Overview

The aim of this unit is to develop  research literacy skills, skills for conducting an academic literature review and practical skills in academic critique, by fostering a deeper understanding of research design and its relation to knowledge production. This unit will include guidance on writing a research project proposal.

Teaching and learning methods

A combination of whole class lectures, workshops seminars and tutorials. In addition, the following methods will be used: small group work, investigative exercises, computer sessions, guided study, application to individual topic areas, Blackboard discussion.
