Course description

The Politics department is full of excellent and inspiring academics; the variety of modules on offer is broad
and the city itself offers lots of different experiences for people who are in search of city life but aren¿t quite ready for (or fancy) the `Big Smoke¿.

Drawing on inspiring academic expertise, you will explore the latest perspectives in political analysis and theories alongside research methodologies in political science.
You will also choose from a range of fascinating optional units, to expand your knowledge.
Teaching and learning
Part-time students complete the full-time course over two years. There are no evening or weekend course units available on the part-time route.
You must first check the schedule of the compulsory units and then select your optional units to suit your requirements.
Updated timetable information will be available from mid-August and you will have the opportunity to discuss your unit choices during induction week with your course director.
Coursework and assessment
Courses are taught through a combination of methods including interactive lectures and seminars. You will be assessed through a variety of methods, such as:
- exams;
- essays;
- presentations; and
- tutorials.
