Academic requirements
For athletes in Higher Education they should be studying an undergraduate programme (including HND, HNC, Degree programme including Foundation Degrees) or postgraduate (Masters, Doctorate). This can be achieved by studying full time, part time or via distance learning.
Nationality restrictions
This funding is available to students from:
- England
- Northern Ireland
- Scotland
- Wales
Application procedure
Selection criteria
Minimum international level in their sport and have received an offer to study at University of Manchester or be a current student.

Closing date
Two - end of May and end of November.
Decision date
Awards made for 1 st September - 31 st August & 1 st January - 31 st August.
Additional information
47 Sports covered including 15 disability sports.
There is 1 scholarship available for international students.
