The Turing Scheme

The Turing Scheme is the UK government's global programme for studying and working abroad, providing students in the UK with funding to support international education opportunities across the world.

We’re pleased to offer research placements for our postgraduate researchers at international partner universities and research institutes.

Available across any academic discipline, you'll receive a grant to conduct a research placement as an integrated part of your existing programme.

By taking part, you'll:

  • gain a global perspective;
  • improve your intercultural communication skills;
  • expand your academic network;
  • enhance your future employability.

A placement can run for a minimum of four weeks, up to a maximum of four months. The aim of the placement is to add value to your existing doctoral programme through exposure to a different research environment and access to complementary facilities and expertise.

Applications

The deadline for applications has now passed. We expect another call to open to postgraduate research students in 2023.
