The aim is to allow students to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of the topics covered in other Physics modules.
Knowledge and Understanding:
Demonstrate appreciable understanding of topic areas studied.
Use specialist vocabulary widely.
Interpret data in diagrammatic, graphical, numerical, symbolic and verbal form.
Apply knowledge to novel and unfamiliar situations.
Perform relevant calculations with confidence and accuracy.
Transferable skills and Personal Qualities:
Import further mathematical knowledge and skills into the study of physics
Teaching and learning methods
36 Lectures*: Three (1 hour) sessions per week, weeks 1-12
*Includes lecture and tutorial style material and in-class coursework tests
- Undertake on-line simulations of experiments in the subject areas studied
- Change experimental parameters and observe, analyse and discuss the outcomes of such changes

- Examination scripts can be viewed by arrangement at a specified date
