Overview
The course unit will cover the following key stages:
• First phase - introduction to the project brief and baseline analysis and evaluation;
• Second phase - series of workshops to explore key issues, opportunities and constraints related to the project;
• Third phase - generation of appropriate management response with recommendations.
Aims
The unit aims to:
- provide students with practical experience in undertaking assessment and management of an environmental issue
- introduce students to the roles of the range of various practitioners and stakeholders involved in managing the environment
- Enable students to demonstrate the full range of their knowledge relevant to an environmental management issue set within an existing project.
- enable students to utilise fully the self-learning capabilities learnt during their programme and to demonstrate them in a student-led group project

The course will be delivered through weekly workshop sessions and a site visit.
