Career opportunities
There are several career options available to graduates of our BSc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Graduates can register with the General Dental Council as a dental hygienist or dental therapist and work in the NHS, private practice, large corporations or the armed forces.
Other graduates may wish to pursue an academic career and undertake a research degree after completing the course.
We offer careers advice throughout the three years of the course, with the bulk of this concentrated in Year 3 in the run-up to graduation.
You will develop both technical and interpersonal skills through the course and schemes such as the Manchester Leadership Programme , participation in which is compulsory for Year 2 students to help you develop additional skills and experience outside of the course.
Accrediting organisations
Upon graduation, you will hold a qualification that is recognised by the General Dental Council to allow you to work as a dental therapist or dental hygienist.
