Overview

The Student Development Programme is a unit designed around your needs in developing the skills you will use while studying while simultaneously facilitating your individual goal setting and connecting you with supportive university services. The unit includes weekly seminars, that you will see in your timetable and an online resource. The timetabled sessions include a combination of active student seminars, workshops and guest lectures. The Student Development Programme is an integral part of each of the three years of the Public Health Programme. In Year 3 the SDP is there to encourage and support the students so they are confidence in knowing what their next steps are. This is a time for the students to be able to talk about the skills they have practiced at University and how they can be transferred to the workplace.

Aims

The Student Development Programme unit is a mandatory unit and part of each year of the BSc Public Health. During the unit you will develop a variety of skills to explicitly support you. The unit is responsive to the needs of you as a cohort and there are opportunities to co-design the unit content with the unit lead.
