Overview

This unit offers learners the opportunity to develop confidence and knowledge in professional practice for employment in creative and cultural education contexts. Learners will apply career professional development frameworks, identify gaps in skills and competencies, develop confidence for job applications and improve skills and knowledge for professional development. Through engagement in real world case study examples students will complete and discuss activities to support their professional development to lead towards work experiences in the creative and cultural education contexts.

Aims

  • Develop learners professional development for the Creative and Cultural Education industries
  • Prepare learners to gain work experience in the Creative and Cultural Education industries

Teaching and learning methods

Asynchronous lectures recorded with core knowledge and theory for classes
Seminars for workshop and simulation exercises to support development of skills and knowledge for employability. 

Knowledge and understanding

  • Develop a C.V. and use this to apply for work experience
  • Critique and reflect on their use of skills and knowledge in a working context
  • Appraise the digital skills needed to work in creative and cultural industries

  • Evaluate personal knowledge and skills for employment
